I think out of the box isnt the most creative way of saying Im creative. ââ¬Å"5 Effective Techniques to Improve Your Writingâ⬠is excerpted from the Accepted.com special report, Ace the AMCAS Essay. To download the entire free special report, click here. So far in this seriesà weââ¬â¢ve talked about the WHO, WHY, WHAT, and HOW of creating an exemplary AMCAS essay. Now weââ¬â¢re going to offer some bonus tips that will help elevate your essay so itââ¬â¢s not just covering the right material in the correct order, but itââ¬â¢s actually written WELL. 1.à Use active, lively, vivid verbs. You can ââ¬Å"goâ⬠somewhere, or you can ââ¬Å"meander,â⬠ââ¬Å"wander,â⬠ââ¬Å"race,â⬠ââ¬Å"rush,â⬠etc. Variety enhances your verbiage! 2. Use metaphorsà and images to enliven your writing. This will help your reader jump into your experience. 3.à Avoid clichà ©s. Saying that you ââ¬Å"think out of the boxâ⬠isnââ¬â¢t really the most creative way of stating that you are creative. Itââ¬â¢s just too overused. 4. Use suspense and irony. These elements show depth to your writing and to your personality. 5.à Be succinct.
